Mission Statement:

To help make Disney dreams come true for people with special needs, disabilities, health and emotional conditions, and their friends and families.  We want to make it easy for others to plan a safe, comfortable and enjoyable trip. We packed tons of helpful information into a book titled Walt Disney World® with Disabilities.  Our website, which is now being expanded, will supplement the book with other helpful information and updates.

Our Motivation:

It's rough to travel with a health condition, and it can be stressful and even scary. Yet just like anyone else, people with health conditions need to be able to relax and get away.  Disney has become the one place we could vacation with ease and confidence, but it took years to figure everything out.  We realized that we had so much knowledge and experience that could make a difference to others.  We decided to write the book to help people avoid the pitfalls and to make use of all Disney has to offer.

Of course, the book has details and tips on how to get your needs met in the parks resorts and restaurants.  We also felt strongly that there was a real need for people to see more in-depth and full descriptions of the physical and emotional "feel" of Disney World attractions.  We believed that it had to be written from the experiences of people with health conditions.

Most of what you read out there is written by people who do not have the health conditions they write about.  When you don't suffer from a particular problem, you won't notice the same things as someone who has that problem. We know first-hand that going on the wrong ride or attraction can ruin a trip.  We felt it was important to share what we knew.  We also did extensive research for the book to get the opinions and experiences of people who have conditions we don't, so that we can help folks with a wide variety of issues.

Concerning our website, at first it was created just to display the book.  We quickly realized we could use it to share a lot of information that wasn't suited for a book.  We're now in the process of adding a lot of free content and information.  Here's some of what it will include:

- Disney restaurant menus, reviews and the policies of each restaurant for getting your dietary needs met

- Articles on how to thrive in Disney with special needs

- Photos that can help a person visualize and plan, such as ride cars, ride queues, park walkways, etc.

- Ride descriptions and reviews

- Products related to special needs travel

- Disabled travel resources

- Disney & Orlando attraction phone numbers and websites
