In the
Downtown Disney area, this unusual
resort is nestled in the woods by
the river. Many of the units border
the river, though some don't.
We've been riding the Disney
Friendship boats by those Villas for
years, dreaming about staying there.
They have such a peaceful appearance
and we find it uniquely appealing.
We're booked to visit in the fall,
and we're so excited! The photo
above is a Disney rendering of a
Treehouse Villa, and you can see
that it's designed to make the most
of the beautiful back woods on the
Disney property.

Disney replaced the
villas of the ‘70s with brand-new
vacation homes, and Imagineers kept
the original octagonal design. The
villas are elevated 10 feet off the
ground. They sit on pedestals and
beams that are designed to blend
into the forest environment. Each
villa will sleep nine plus a child
under 3 years old. Though they
maintain a rustic quality, they will
include modern luxuries such as
cathedral ceilings, granite
countertops, a whirlpool tub and
flat-screen TVs.
There
are a total of 60 villas. Each
villa has three bedrooms and two
bathrooms with approximately 1,074
square feet of space. There is one
private bath off of the master
bedroom, and the other one is off of
the living area. The kitchen opens
to a living area. The master bedroom
has a queen bed, the second bedroom
also has a queen bed, and the third
bedroom has a bunk bed. The living
room has a queen sleeper sofa as
well as a sleeper chair. In the
common area, a dining table seats
six guests and the island counter
will seat three. Flat screen
televisions are in each bedroom as
well as in the living room. The
living room will also have a DVD
player. Disney will not guarantee a
riverside location at this resort. The image above is a Disney

The
kitchens will include a coffee
maker, pots, pans, dinnerware,
glassware, flatware, microwave,
refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster
and stove. There will be a laundry
area with a stacked washer and
dryer. The master bathroom will have
a whirlpool tub. Each Treehouse will
have a charcoal barbecue. We're most
excited about the private deck that
each villa has where guests will be
able to enjoy nature.
-
There
are 4 accessible villas with
ramps up to the villa and roll-in
showers. Unfortunately none of these
villas are by the water. Cars will be
parked right by your villa.
-
The Treehouse villas has
its
own pool and whirlpool, however they
are similar to the quiet pools you
find at other resorts. There is no
special theme, lifeguards or a
slide. Guests
are also welcome to use the
Saratoga Springs pools, as well as
all of the
Saratoga Springs amenities. This includes
the boat and bus transportation,
tennis courts, pools, shopping and
dining, spa and fitness center and
bicycle rental. This
is not going to be particularly
convenient because of the very long
distances to Saratoga Springs.
Disney is recommending that guests
who stay at the Treehouse Villas
have a car during their stay. There
are paths from the Treehouse Villas to
Saratoga Springs, but it's far
enough away to be impractical to
walk. In fact, a Saratoga Springs
staff person mentioned that it's a
fairly long drive.
-
Although the Treehouse Villa's are
part of the Disney Vacation Club,
non-members can also stay in this
resort. Non Disney vacation Club
members can make reservations for
this resort now by calling Disney
reservations at 407-939-7630.
